Hey Ya'll.
First things first, if you know me you know I hate the technology thing so blogging is not really my scene but this seems like the most efficient way to stay in touch with everyone. As security is an issue where I am going, Heather Goodman will be updating this for me while I am in Africa, just so I can be sure I can write what I like without having to watch what I say. I technically could update it but then would have to keep a very close eye on my language and what not so having Heather do it seems to be the best idea. We also are being careful to keep my full name off of this just so I can be overly safe, so just make sure my full name never pops up in a comment or anything, thank you!!
As most of you know I have been waiting for my visa along with a few other teachers for a while now, as it has finally come in I will be leaving tuesday (8-24-2010) at 9:30 at night! As I run around crazy getting all my last minute stuff in order I just want to thank all of you for all of your support, love and prayers over the entire process of me getting ready to leave. So many of you were so generous with your finances, time, and love these past few months and I am truly blessed by it. When God first showed me that my next step after graduation would be to spend a year in Africa I had no idea how it would even be possible, but He did. He used y'all, my amazing friends and spiritual family, to stand strong around me as I prepared for this new journey.
So thank you for everything, and I can not wait to fill this blog with more stories of His faithfulness, power, and grace! Next time this is updated I will hopefully be in a very hot place on the other side of the world!
peace,
J
