Busy Week!

Hi there friends from faraway lands.
This week has been a busy one and I would not want it any other way.
On the teaching front, this week has been STRESSFUL. One of my girls got in-school suspension for beating up four other girls. It was basically a full on west-side story style brawl. People were thrown to the ground, girls skirts were ripped, and Ms. Julia got her angry teacher on( complete with glare and O no you didn’t looks). Things have settled down now and thankfully life has returned to its non-street brawling ways.
This week I have also gotten to connect with some of my bosses ( other missionaries here) on a deeper level which is nice. We talked about the loneliness which we all feel when you are thrown into a new continent, country, and community. It was nice to just be honest about how hard it has been to connect with people and with the Boss and feel so understood. It was such a good conversation and so nice to just talk and bosstalk with people who are in this together.
As for the real work, I have had two amazing home visits this past week.  We try to only do one or two home visits a week because they are very tiring (usually lasting 3.5 to 4 hours), so having two is considered a full week. One visit I had with one of my student’s mother. The mom, Huyam, was so sweet, nice and genuine. She is a devout Muslim, but she is so open to talking about faith. We already have plans to hang out next week and she made me lunch today! The other visit was with one of the families from my flatmate’s class. The family is Coptic Christian. We ended up getting into an amazing conversation about the persecuted church and how was as people who believe in Jesus Christ need to respond in love and grace. It was such an encouraging conversation for not only my friend and I but for the woman we were talking to.
This week while hard and stressful has had so many lights. The two homevisits were great, I got an amazing package from the states which gave me such joy, and I got some sweet notes from students which just makes any day better.
Please be praying for my relationships that I am starting to try to bring deeper with people like Huyam, Hind, Safa, and Huda. Please also be bosstalking for a camping trip we are going on in November to hang out with an un-reached people group called the Rashaida. Also, still waiting for that visa, but I am confident in God's provision.
I hope all of you are well, and enjoying the fall. I am thinking and praying for all of you.
LOVE
